Description
By the end of the course you will be able to:
- Describe the detailed anatomy, biomechanics, and patho-mechanics of the
temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and associated muscles. - Explain the function of the trigeminal sensory system and its relationship with
temporomandibular disorders (TMDs), demonstrating an understanding of its role in
assessment and treatment. - Complete a comprehensive TMJ assessment, including history taking, physical
examination, and clinical reasoning, to identify signs and symptoms of TMD. - Integrate clinical decision-making strategies to develop individualized treatment plans
for TMD patients based on their assessment findings. - Demonstrate practical proficiency in using various physical therapy interventions for
TMJ disorders, applying a holistic approach that includes manual therapy, exercises, and
patient education.
